Submachine 7: The Core
Episode 7 of 10 in the Submachine saga.

About Submachine 7: The Core
Submachine 7: The Core is episode 7 of the Submachine series by Mateusz Skutnik, released in 2010. Like the rest of the saga, it is a point-and-click exploration game: you move through quiet, strange spaces, pick up objects, use them on machinery and slowly decode the clues left behind.
The Core heads for the heart of the machine. It is one of the largest episodes, with many interlinked areas and a story that pulls threads from all the previous games together.
The series' atmosphere is what people remember most – soft ambient sound, hand-made textures, and the constant feeling that you are only seeing a small part of something enormous. Notes found along the way tell a story across all ten episodes.
How to play
- Click the arrows at the edges of the screen to move.
- Click objects to pick them up or interact.
- Use items from the inventory on the world.
The game is played with the mouse only.
The series in order
Before this, play Submachine 6: The Edge; next comes Submachine 8: The Plan. The Submachine page lists all ten, and FlashAttic marks the episodes you have already played.
Stuck? Hints, gentlest first
Hint 1 – map the world
Submachine locations connect in ways that are easy to forget. Sketch a rough map of where each exit leads.
Hint 2 – keep a notebook
Codes, symbols and coordinates found in one place are used somewhere else. Write down everything that looks deliberate.
Hint 3 – revisit with new items
When you pick up something new, walk back through the places you have already seen – the item usually belongs somewhere you passed.
