Xiao Xiao No. 4
Stick figure gunfight, light-gun style.

About Xiao Xiao No. 4
Xiao Xiao No. 4 is a 2001 Flash game by Zhu Zhiqiang, part of his famous Xiao Xiao series of stick figure films and games. It is a shooting game in the style of the arcade light-gun games of the 1990s: the camera moves through a series of scenes, stick figure enemies pop out from behind cover, and you aim and click to take them down before they shoot you.
Like the rest of the series, it borrows freely from action movies – slow tension, sudden bursts of action and stick figures that move with surprising grace. Its simple controls made it instantly playable, and its look made it one of the most recognisable stick figure games of the early web.
How to play Xiao Xiao No. 4
- Move the mouse to aim.
- Click to shoot.
- Reload when you run out of bullets – follow the on-screen prompt.
The game is played with the mouse only.
More Xiao Xiao
The series continues on the keyboard in Xiao Xiao 9: Fight Man. See the Xiao Xiao page or the rest of the stick figures & action box.
Stuck? Hints, gentlest first
Hint 1 – shoot on sight
Enemies appear from cover for only a moment. Keep your cursor near where they pop up and click as soon as you see them.
Hint 2 – watch your ammo
Like arcade light-gun games, you have limited shots before reloading. Reload during quiet moments, not in the middle of a fight.
Hint 3 – learn the waves
Enemies appear in the same places each time. A second play-through is much easier once you know where to look.
Xiao Xiao No. 4 is part of the Xiao Xiao series by Zhu Zhiqiang, whose stick figure fights spread across the early internet around 2001. While most Xiao Xiao episodes were animations you watched, this one put the mouse in your hand.
