About Xiao Xiao 9: Fight Man

Xiao Xiao 9: Fight Man is a 2002 stick figure fighting game by Zhu Zhiqiang. You control a lone martial artist – a stick figure, as always in the Xiao Xiao series – as waves of other stickmen come at him from both sides. Punch, kick and dodge your way through them, and see how long you can last.

The appeal is the same one that made the Xiao Xiao animations travel the world: smooth, exaggerated kung fu movement drawn with nothing more than a few lines. Fight Man takes that style and puts it under your fingers, turning the films' choreography into a simple and satisfying beat 'em up.

How to play Xiao Xiao 9: Fight Man

  • Move with the arrow keys.
  • Attack with the attack keys shown at the start of the game.
  • Survive as many attackers as you can.

Click inside the game first so it receives your key presses. The Controls button under the player reminds you how keyboard games work here.

Stuck? Hints, gentlest first

Hint 1 – don't get surrounded

Enemies come from both sides. Keep moving so they arrive one or two at a time instead of all together.

Hint 2 – mix your attacks

Alternate punches and kicks rather than repeating one move; it is easier to interrupt attackers before they hit you.

Hint 3 – click first

The game uses the keyboard. Click inside it once before playing, or your key presses will not register.

back in 2002

Xiao Xiao 9 – Fight Man belongs to the stick figure series that Zhu Zhiqiang made famous around the turn of the millennium. Where earlier episodes were short action films, Fight Man let you take control of the kung fu stickman yourself.
