About Bartender: The Right Mix

Bartender: The Right Mix is a cocktail-mixing game from the early days of Flash portals. A bartender stands behind a counter lined with bottles – spirits, liqueurs, juices and mixers – and your job is to make the drinks right. Choose a cocktail, pick the bottles, pour the right amounts and mix.

The game judges your drink, and the bartender's reactions are a big part of the charm: a perfect cocktail earns praise, while a badly mixed one can have funny results. Learning the recipes and getting each mix exactly right is what keeps people coming back.

It was a staple of mid-2000s game sites and one of the first "simulation" games many players met in a browser.

How to play

  • Choose a cocktail from the recipe list.
  • Click the bottles to pour the ingredients in.
  • Mix and serve, then see how you did.

The game is played with the mouse only.

Stuck? Hints, gentlest first

Hint 1 – follow the recipe

Open the recipe for the drink you want and use exactly the bottles it lists. Extra ingredients usually ruin the result.

Hint 2 – amounts matter

How long you pour changes the mix. Pour carefully and stop at the right moment rather than emptying the bottle.

Hint 3 – experiment

Part of the fun is getting it wrong. Try odd combinations to see what happens – then go back to the recipe for the real thing.
